Tips from the owner
No motor vehicles are permitted in the historic centre of Venice.
If you come to Venice by car there are some alternatives, which are (from the cheapest to the most expensive):
1 Park your car at one of the railway stations in the province of Venice and take the train to the centre of Venice ("Venezia Santa Lucia" station). This takes 5- 15 minutes to the reach the station in the historic centre of Venice.
2 Park your car at Mestre (a suburb of Venice on the mainland) and take the train to the centre of Venice.
3. Follow the signs for "Venezia centro". You will arrive in Piazzale Roma (where the only car park in Venice is located). From here it is possible to get around using the public boats or taxis. Please note that parking in Piazzale Roma is quite expensive.
