The park is situated 2km from the village centre, shops and restaurants of Stadl, where there is also a popular swimming lake.
15km from the historic town and golf course of Murau, in an area well-known as one of the sunniest in Austria, and certainly one of the most unspoilt. Empty mountain pass roads, small traditional villages and densely forested mountainsides define the countryside here.
The Kreischberg (10 mins away) holds an international board and freestyle competition every winter and is now firmly on the alpine resort map. Turrach is only 15 minutes away, and nearby Obertauern has snow until May every year too.
