House description
The special holiday residence “de Nieuwpoortmolen” was originally a grain windmill. The remaining shell of the mill has been converted and furnished as a comfortable holiday residence where you enjoy a great deal of privacy. From the conservatory and the terrace (not fenced), you can enjoy the surrounding nature and have a view out over the beautiful landscape. Here you can admire the beautiful sunsets.
For culture lovers, the Roman museum of Velzeke and the old abbey ruins of Ename are both in the vicinity.
Through its central location, Gent, Bruges, Brussels, Oudenaarde and Aalst are within easy reach and surely work a lovely day out.
Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the number of marked walking and cycling routes. Cycle enthusiasts know the Flemish Ardennes for its spring classics.

Lovely house - successful windmill conversion; well equipped; very pleasant conservatory with view over the surrounding countryside; lots of space; very private; good garden for sunbathing; good patio for outside dining; Drawbacks: the steep stairs - not perhaps for young kiddies, the eldery or anyone unsteady on their feet; also total lack of noise insulation between the 3 floors. Very friendly and helpful owner. Good base for visiting this part of Belgium - Brussels (by train), Burges, Ghent and Ypres (all by car) all visited during our stay. Plenty of countryside walks from the house.

This is a beautiful windmill set in open countryside location and the owners are very friendly and helpful in showing all the accommodation has to offer.

WE HAVE VISITED THE "Nieuwpoortmolen" DURING JULY 2008. IT IS A MORVELESE HOUSE MOST EXOTIC END AUTHENTIC. THE OWNERS ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND WORMLY PEOPLE. WE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIFES IN THIS HOLIDAY. THE LOCATION IS SUPERB. THE KITCHEN IS MORE THAN WELL EQUIPED. THE VIEW IS FENOMINALE. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE BATH AND TOILET DOWNSTAIRS - 3 FLOORS FROM THE BEDROOM. BUT WE KNEW IT BEFORE ARRIVING AND WE DECIDED IT WOULD'T INTERFIR. WE FULLY RECOMAND !!!

This was a wonderful place to stay - very peaceful and relaxing.
the owners wen out of their way to help us, even arriving with gifts.
