De Hereboerderij country estate is in Bronneger, a picturesque village near Borger, in the province of Drente, The holiday home stands on a plot of more then 6 hectares with vast oak trees more then a century old. It is a naturally beautiful area with ponds and meadows with plenty of horses and sheep. The farm is completely original with ox-blood red floors, beamed ceilings and furniture from when the house was built in 1881.
The area is very well suited for lovely country walks and bicycle rides. The Hunebedden and the Drouwenerzand can be reached in 5 minutes by foot and the walking route het Bijvoetpad runs along De Hereboerderij. A short bike ride brings you to the Staatsbossen woods with, amongst others, the Boomkroonpadand the Nye Hemelriek. There is also easy access to the Noorder Dierenpark (Zoo) in Emmen, the city of Groningen and the Drents Museum in Assen.
