The holiday residence borders a small holiday complex in an old hamlet. Beautfully located in beautiful rural surroundings in the midst of the hills. Forests, meadows, lakes, streams and a castle here and there mark the landscape. At one time the Escravayat family lived at Chateau Bellac. Later it was farms and barns. The new Bellac is built on the old foundations. Some ruines on the property remind one of its history. Now it is a wonderful holiday residence. Walking, mountain biking, swimming, relaxing, golfing, making excursions....its all possible. In the surrounding area there is a large reservoir, Lac Lavaud, with a sandy beach. You can do your weekly shop each Wednesday at the bustling market in Piëgut-Pluviers. In the town of Montbron there are various provisions including supermarkets, baker, butcher, bank, doctor, pharmacy and tourist information. The Le Chat holiday centre is located within walking distance, as is the beautiful La Preze golf course. The walking and horseback riding centre of Chambon is located approximately 15 km away. Bellac is located on the border of Charente and Dordogne, from which locations such as Perigueux, Limoges, Angoulême, Cognac and Bordeaux are easily accessible. This varied region is popular with tourists, but is not overrun. Only one day's drive from the Netherlands and Belgium! If you love a green rolling landscape, this is a wonderful place.
