House description
This is one of two traditional stone built, old fashioned cottages located a short distance from each other on the same working dairy farm in an attractive South Cotswold hamlet. Carters Cottage is a delightful 18th Century attached 2 bed-roomed cottage, formerly a Coach Inn, a short distance from the farm. The pretty cottage has considerable original character and charm and is especially appealing for out of season breaks with its impressive open fire. Logs and produce can be obtained from the owner’s dairy farm just up the road. The surprisingly spacious rooms are furnished in cottage style. A delightful orchard style garden including a child’s 'tyre' swing and garden furniture. Carters Cottage is just down the road from the owner’s farmhouse which was built in the 18th Century and is a Grade II Listed building. In the farmyard there is a Tythe barn, which is even older. The farm has lots of animals – cows, calves, pigs, sheep, hens, ducks etc. - and offers pony/horse riding, qualified riding tuition plus stabling for your own horse and advice on super local bridle ways to explore. Children – and adults! – are very welcome to visit the animals. Farm grown and reared produce is available from the owners so you can be sure of good fresh country food.
