High above Tournavaux are 3 quite basic wooden chalets (30m2) in a typical Ardens village. The river Semoy is within 100m. The chalets are also situated on the border of the forest. Here you can enjoy many diverse activities; hikes or mountain biking, canoeing on the Semoy, wind surfing on the lake of Les Vieilles Forges, viewing of Charleville-Mezieres or Bouillon (Belgium)

This is a very beautiful part of france, but be prepared to be able to speak french as they no dont understand english. A very good away from it all holiday, and both my husband and son enjoyed the long cycle rides they had. If the sun shines its heaven on earth and the views are to die for.

We had a lovely family holiday at La Retorse. It was a 'get away from it all' holiday. The surrounding area is beautiful and being so close to the river was lovely. The only disappointment was that the village did not have any kind of shop so we had to get in the car quite often.
The chalet is described as basic and that is what it is but it was reasonably comfortable for a week.

Wonderfully relaxing location with fantastic views across the valley. Canoeing, kayaking and mountain bike hire in Tournavaux village 5 mins walk, otherwise you'll need to go to nearby Monthermé for food (supermarket) or restaurants - Hotel de la Paix across the bridge is recommended. The chalets are cosy but comfortable and have everything you need for a week or weekend.
