House description
This extremely fine, fully renovated manor (230 m2), which is furnished with care by a decorator from Troyes, on an intersection of Loire castles. All the rooms have their own bathrooms, they differ and are tastefully furnished. It is a splendid house, encircled by a forestry park (5 000m2), with a heated swimming pool and a pond. You will find all of this in the Sologne-area, which is known for its numerous lakes. De Loire-valley and the most beautiful castles are located within 1h drive.

his is an excellent house. The owner has tried to provide everything a visitor could wish for. It was very clean when we arrived and we were shown round by a very nice gentlemen. Unfortunateley we do not speak much French and he spoke no English, so it was diificult to understand everything he was saying.
All the bedrooms have quality en suite facilities. There is a downstairs bedroom with a bath and separate shower which makes the house ideal for a party where one couple require wheelchair access. However, There is a single step from the living area to the kitchen.
The kitchen is well fitted with full size cooker. microwave and dishwasher. The utility room has a washing machine and dryer.
On arrival we found a bottle of Champagne in the fridge and a fresh loaf of bread. Local shopping in Viglain is limited. There is a baker open in the morning and again late afternoon and a small "corner shop" with a reasonable but limited selection. There is a Super U and an Intermarche about 15 minutes drive in St Pere sur Loire which is just over the bridge from Sully sur Loire.
The swimming pool is a good size for family fun and has a security system which, when turned on, sounds an alarm if anyone, particularly a child, enters the water. The pool is not heated but has an effective cleaning system.
The grounds are extensive (60 hectares I was told) and provide good walking areas. There are also 5 bikes for older children and adults one of which has a child seat on the back. None of the bikes are suitable for very young children. There is a tennis table set up in a covered area and bats and balls are provided.
There is plety to do within an hours drive of the house and there is a mass of tourist material available in the house. We found a very friendly horse riding stables just 10 minutes away.
