In the center of the largest wineregion of the Black Forest and just 10 km. from the border with France lies the village of Vogtsburg in the so calles region of Kaiserstuhl. Just outside of Vogtsburg lies the township of Bischoffingen which is surrounded by hills covered with grapes. This is possible while the Kaiserstuhl region is one of the sunniest and warmest parts of Germany. At he edge of the township of Bischoffingen you'll find this cosy appartment on the first floor of this house which stands on a large, and nicely kept, piece of land. From the privat terrace which belongs to the appartment you have a beautiful view toward the local Rehgebirge.

Very Good Location for making excursions into The Black Forest, The Voges in France & the Northern border area of Switzerland
Very friendly householders both grandmother & her daughters family
Locally you can walk in the fruit orchards & vineyards - the area has a micro climate much warmer than the surrounding area - we were surprised by the variety of fruit notably plums, cherries & redcurrants - unusually we also found a Mulberry & Medlar tree which are not seen very often in the UK
Using the Konus travel card which is given to you on arrival it is possible to explore the Black Forest by train - it is best to drive to Breisach which is only fifteen minutes away from the house & park the car there - there is then a half hour service Monday to Saturday into Freiburg from where numerous rail (and bus) connections can be made
I would also recommend making the following longer excursions - Basel (by train), Strasbourg (by car - parking not a problem), & the northern border areas of Switzerland both east & west of Basel (by car)
